I know it’s not really been long since I posted but catching up seemed like the right title because I’ve been busy.
Eating good food:
Chilling out on my balcony with my journal.
Getting my zen on last night with the sweatiest class ever. It was awesome — my friend teaches for Yoga Shack and all this time I’ve never been to her class…I was missing out!
Hanging out with Rachel — we had tea and dinner!
…and that’s a lot of fun, just for yesterday!
And then today was pretty freaking awesome too.
I woke up to rain and clouds and not exactly the best conditions for riding 75 OR 150km.
Luckily, when I got to Sarnia to meet up with my friends for Pedal to the Pines, things were clearing up and I went out thinking I’d decide about doing the half pedal 75km or the full one nearly 150km when we got halfway. So I did just that.
And the sun was shining and my friends were down, so the full won out!
I’d call this ride pretty much perfect. We took it pretty easy on the way home cuz it was seriously windy, took our time at the rest stops, etc. but it was still not a bad ride to look back on! Smiles all around when we were finished. I think I drank a few litres of gatorade and stayed sugared up with dried fruit, an energy gel, and a bagel with peanut butter along the way. I felt good — full of energy and strong, even! I pulled my friends and especially at the end could see that I’d been putting in my mileage. Yay!
That being said, I was ready to be finished by the time we were in the home stretch
. Sore bum, much?
And apparently being a girl and finishing 2nd meant I deserved a trophy. Unexpected, much? I’m not going to argue–it’s kind of cute!
The best part MIGHT be the jersey tan. Oh lordy.
I’m going to rock this tan at the bar tonight.
Bonus tip: don’t go to the grocery store to buy “a few things” after riding a hugh jass bike ride, unless you want to buy groceries for a month.
Anyways, I’m going to go eat some steak (I’m dying for this dinner!) and have a much deserved beer. The thought of it is making me tipsy!
And be that girl who eats a whole big carrot while driving (I don’t believe in baby carrots, don’t get me started!) and gets funny looks from people in other cars.
How’d you spend your day?
Do you get worked up over tan lines?
What do you crave most after a long ride/run/race?

Wow congrats on that ride!
That is such an accomplishment in itself! But finishing 2nd on top of that?? You seriously amaze me!
Yesterday I worked (at 6:30 am!), went to a blogger meet up, went on a short 8 mile bike ride, and went to bed early since I work today at 7:30 am.
Thanks girl!
Sounds like a busy day
I was going to comment last night, but I was having trouble thinking of good enough words for how epic that bike ride is and how proud of you I am! Well, it’s morning now and I still can’t think of anything good enough, so I will just comment anyway and say LIKE A BOSS, CHERYL!!!!! Holy crap, seriously, I can’t believe you just rode 150k!! aka, what, 95ish miles?!? HOLYYYYY SHIT. Truly epic, and yes, you earned that rockin jersey tan. Which I’m super jealous of because I don’t even own a jersey…I ride my bike in a wife beater cuz i’m not legit yet hahaha….but anyway seriously, rock that tan at the bar, all the kinds of boys that you’d ACTUALLY want to date will think it’s the hottest hing
As well did you earn that trophy – it IS super cute and you’ve definitely been putting in the miles this summer! don’t think I haven’t been stalkig you on daily mile and noticing that you’ve gotten faster, too
Also, your food looks delicious and plant-licious and it’s cool to see that you put fruit on your salads with meat because i totally do that as well and my family thinks its so weird haha! <3
Ha! My sister has this serious rule that her meat and fruit can be nowhere near the same realm. Like, separate plates and if she had a steak dinner there needs to be a buffer before a fruit dessert. I’m all for berries and chicken, berries and steak, apple and turkey, you name it! OM NOM NOM!
Pineapple and ham. I’m done with the examples. Pork and apples. I lied. Now I’m hungry too…
You need a jersey!!! Seriously girl, you ARE legit! And the pockets are oh so necessary and the tan lines too
Lots of triathletes wear sleeveless, though, so that’s a decision you’ve gotta make
I just wear both and end up with double the lines.
Thanks for the support. I seriously love biking. Anything is good with friends and sunshine, right?!
JEEEZ, what a beast! That is an awesome ride. You inspire me! I’m just getting into biking soooo I need all the inspiration I can get. How long have you been doing it, if you don’t mind my asking? Also, SICK jersey tan. I think sports-related tans are the best. They’re like a badge of honor!
