Fast

Woweee–how is it dinner time already?

One thing I promise, tonight’s dinner will not be the same as yesterdays…

Not that you’ll ever catch me hating on froyo for breakfast lunch or dinner (okay, or all three), but I am craving a real dinner — so I’m cooking up some steak as we speak. Mmmmm, my apartment smells delicious.

Yesterday was a good day even if I did end up sitting around for most of it (I think that’s what I needed!). I got to see my best gal pal Bonnie, whose departure date (she’s off to teach in Saudi for 2 years!) is fast approaching. Sad face, but I’m so excited for her! And we had a serious chit chat at our fav starbucks spot (the study location of choice for years where we really became bffaeaeaeaeaeae) before we met up with some other friends at Kiwi Kraze.

I had a really low key night and went to bed early — I’m trying to kick a cough that I thought was just a sore throat from all the bootcamp and teaching and such, but I don’t know…

I woke up nice and early again with a mission–so I had a quick yogurt bowl (with an apple and almond butter) before I hit the road.

What’s the occasion, you ask?

Oh nothing, just an impromptu half marathon relay! I ran with two other folks and it was organized by my fav running group, Feet On Fire–as a side note, they don’t pay me to do this, but you should run with them if you live in Sarnia. I don’t care if your feet are already on fire or if you are more the couch potato type, check them out and get involved. My mom came to watch the relay and she had nothing but good things to say about the people!

Like I said, I ran with 2 other people and we did 2.3km loops to add up to the half marathon 21.1km distance! It was awesome. My friend Amy was on my team and another strong runner who I’d not met before. I ran between 10 minutes and 11 minutes for my laps, got some good feedback on my form, and loved being a part of something so randomly awesome. :) Plus, I have a tendency to run at the same kind of moderate pace but I pushed it for my three laps today! :)

2/3 of our team!

My teammate and friend Amy, Stefania (one of the coaches for Feet on Fire and a totally amazing person!), and me!

After the fun came to an end, my mom and I had a quick coffee and then took my car in for a check up cuz some lights came on when I was driving. Yuck. I’ve been neglecting the thing so it’s a sign — and I took it. After it was all sorted out (nothing big, just a seal or something), I cleaned it up. I stumbled across a concert ticket from 2007 so you know it’s been a long time since it’s gotten much attention. Yuck.

We also had a tasty lunch on the patio of Coffee Lodge (a fav by far in Sarnia), which obviously called for an instagram moment!

After all this fun, I finally met up with a friend who had her first baby in May to meet her little guy. He was adorable, the conversation was refreshing, and it was such a nice treat to take a great afternoon to an even better level! :) As if that wasn’t enough, I made my way to bulk barn (I needed to stock up on dried fruit for my biking trip which is also coming oh so fast quickly) where I grabbed a LARA bar.

Inevitably I was starving when I got back.

Lucky for me, I think my dinner’s done! On tap for tonight: laundry, dealing with my overflowing inbox, fixing my nails (I was testing colours an ended up with a rainbow hand) and beers! :) I need fuel for tomorrow’s ride to Port Stanley (random, awesome, impromptu as most of my life is these days).

Have a great night!

Do you try out fingernail polishes even though you “shouldn’t”?
Have you ever done a relay race?

Do you like running fast?

Perhaps I’ll search for one in CO when I’m fixed haha. and yes beer = the BEST long-ride fuel! Ooh and nail polishes…you mean test them out in the store? without buying? yeah I do that….#sorryimnotsorry lol I do usually buy a color or two when I do that though!
