Today is one of those days I’m just taking as it comes. It’s been a while since I’ve had nothing to do (except laundry, of course),so I’m relishing the opportunity to do whatever. I used to get worked up over free time until I started liking myself. No joke–when you like hanging out with yourself, you realize a day off is pretty awesome.
Not that I didn’t see plenty of friends today! I met up with Steph for the Yoga Shack Gives Back event at the JLC today. It was awesome, just like last year! So many yogis in one place and all for a good cause (heart and stroke research), plus I missed yoga like CRAZY and this was a gentle way to get back into things (I have a feeling heading right into a vinyasa class would have kicked my arse but this way I got a nice stretch and some zen!).

Friends! Chelsea, Steph and I pre-class! Note to self: buy coloured tights! ![]()

Radio host intro (this guy’s always getting his zen on at Yoga Shack, so that’s pretty cool), mayor chit chat, and Lisa–our awesome teacher!

Filling up! Can you feel the community?
I love yoga shack. It felt like Christmas AGAIN today. At one point, Lisa, our instructor (and one of the owners of my beloved Yoga Shack) told us to give our legs a hug and to give ourselves some love. She suggested we say “I love me” and I had an “OH MAN THIS FEELS AMAZING” moment right then and there. I highly suggest you get down on your floor and give that a go right now, or just do it wherever you’re sitting. And remember–we’re supposed to like ourselves!
In terms of eating today, I really went with the flow. Coming back from a whirlwind trip and lots of food struggles and figuring things out, I am choosing to eat without judgement for once. Instead of trying to fix something, I’m just going with it for a bit here. I trust myself enough that I don’t think I’m going to eat all junk food all the time so intuitive eating felt right today–and my stomach was feeling a bit more right too! Amen for that.
I’m so relaxed in fact that the only thing I cried over today (haha) was finding this DEAD BAT in my apartment. I’m not kidding. I am a bit shook up and grossed out but the specimen is beyond dead. I left my screen door open one too many times I guess and I’m just glad I don’t have rabies. OMG OMG OMG I hate looking at this picture (and there’s a better one with his nasty face and fur up close) on my camera that is actually too scary for me to look at again right now. Anyways, I kept him in a ziploc bag to prove to my friends that I’m not lying and I guess when I say I have a “cave” of an apartment it’s true. EW EW EW. I’m not a slob but note to self: move around your furniture every once in a while and see what kicks around. EWWWWWWWW!
Anyways, now that my cleaning is done and all the rodents are taken care of (ha ha ha), I am off to play some golf! It looks like a nice evening and since I have this afternoon of freedom, why not make the most of it? I’m not sure what’s in store for post-golf but I’m sure it will be fun (that’s the name of the game). This week is busy with lots of teaching (including bootcamp! yahoo! see you tomorrow, tuesday, wednesday, thursday–check out my schedule and come on down), freelancing, and running around before my NEXT trip plus appointments, including one at the chiropractor that I’m really looking forward to! I listened to some more Life By Design podcasts today and if what these guys talk about wasn’t so darn true I’d think they were trying to brainwash me
.
Enjoy your afternoon!
What’s your favourite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
Do you golf?
Have you ever found a critter where you didn’t want to? I’m kind of feeling like the kid who is convinced there’s a monster under their bed. Ewwwwwww!

ahh such a fun and relaxing day it sounds like!! SO true, too, the more okay with yourself you are, the easier hanging out with yourself becomes
. Golf sounds like a good time! And um ewwww that bat!!! lol reminds me of how before my sister’s cat died he used to drag in all the mice/birds/bunnies he killed or maimed….our house was like the small-animal-rescue-center, ugh.
Ha! I like animals, but not bats! YUCK!
AHHHH that is a freaking large dead bat. I am glad you got to relax back into things, what a fun yoga class to do. Sounds like a really great day.
I KNOW! And yes it was pretty cool to be with all those yogis!!
OMG that is so freaky about the dead bat!!! I don’t have much experience with rodents, but once there was the biggest grossest centipede in my basement. I swear it was half a foot long!!!!
Also where is that sandwich from? Looks good!
grossssss!
It’s from Williams — the turkey apple cheddar one on multigrain instead of focaccia! Pricey but amazing!
A dead bat in your apartment?! I would have gone ape shit crazy haha. I don’t handle animals (besides cats and dogs) very well haha.
I’m not gonna lie — there were some heebie jeebies.
Looooove yoga
so neat to see that event. Yuck for dead bats!
