Bittersweet and rising to the challenge

…or just sweet?

Not only have I had the best week ever — which involved a finale of a day spent lounging, packing my bike up, and toughing it out at the spa before a home cooked steak/lobster dinner with margaritas and expensive chocolates for dessert — I also get to go home to a busy (but fun!) week and a lot of stuff to look forward to! :)

I still can’t seem to get my photos going on this wireless connection, but I’m flying out later today so you know you’ll be catching the wrap up views soon enough! :)

I dislike the end of vacation — it always makes me sad to say bye to my family and this week, it’s hard to say goodbye to the amazing riding and it was sad bidding farewell to my new biking buddies. I’m looking forward to my plane ride home and to getting settled but with how much I hate laundry, I’m gonna need you to wish me luck!

I woke up feeling very full from last night’s dinner but then I realized — being full from overeating and having dessert is NOT the same as having binged. On my past vacations, I have always slipped past the point of overeating and into compulsive eating/bingeing. So I’m giving myself SERIOUS props for being so — together — on this trip. And I had a nice reminder from a pal when I said I was feeling a bit like I was coming home hefty: “Who cares if you gained a couple pounds. You are confident and loving yourself. I’m not going to care if you gain a few pounds but I will care if you are no longer fun, adventurous, spontaneous, happy, and everything else.” Thank god for friends.

And on that note, it’s time for me to pack up and head home. I have some exciting news — I’m going to jump on the next 30 day challenge that Life By Design is putting on and it starts TOMORROW! I almost thought, “this is a bad time for me” with the fitness conference, lots of changes, and some more running around to do this month, but then I realized — this is life! What better time than when I’m living big?  Here’s a teaser…

Sorry for the quick post but we’re loading up the car…and trust me, I’ll be blogging the whole way through this challenge with daily recaps and such so you’ll get the full understanding soon enough… :)

Wish me luck!
