Maybe it was the fall weather or all the familiar faces I got to see this weekend, but I’m flying absolutely high…
Yesterday’s trip to Sarnia was perfect: family time, lunch out and about, shopping, and running into lots of old friends.
When I got back to London, I attempted to make mayonnaise from scratch. It held together for a while but by the time I was done eating dinner (I used it for a coleslaw with pork), it was a mess…
So I drowned my sorrows in a cider. Kidding–but I did have some cider with my friends. There was beer pong, there was dancing, and it was fun–but I was home early and I read before I went to bed. I think I’m too old for this stuff..
This morning I woke up and had a productive morning. Things started with banana coconut eggs and then I tore apart my entire apartment and started to get rid of the crap I don’t need. I have so many papers for no apparent reasons, probably over 150 magazines (most of which promise me the latest fitness solution, etc.), and just a lot of junk. No more. I’m doing a fall sweep, and oh does it feel good to get choosy about the things I’m keeping in my life.
I abandoned my mess to go to my first Strongman Sunday workout today. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little apprehensive about going–but nerves aren’t bad! And it was a ton of fun–I immediately felt excited, not nervous, once I walked in–the people are so friendly!
We worked on deadlifts (love), lifted a lot of heavy (and pretty awkward) things–pushed the prowler sled, played with the atlas stones, flipped tires–and gosh I felt hardcore.
I’ve got some bruises on my biceps to prove it. Did I mention I love this place? I also spent some time working on mobility today…all in a day’s work!
My afternoon eats came at odd times, which made the first Sunday Funday kind of early for dinner time. I’d had a delicious baked potato with some ground turkey, kale, and cheddar in it mid-afternoon so I just had some salmon and an apple when dinnertime rolled around. I mostly went for the company–gosh I love having so many friends in this city.
Now I’m just trying to get organized for a busy week. For someone who isn’t in school, I’ve got a lot on my calendar! I’m also dedicating some time to updating my 1, 5, and 10 year goals/vision … cuz a whole lot of awesome has come into my world lately and this is long overdue.
How was your weekend?
Do you regularly update your goals?

Looks like a great weekend, you are super busy!
